Before getting to the juicy details of our apprehension and detainment, we want to say a few things about Summer Camp. A big shout out goes to all the people who came to our performance on Sunday afternoon. We saw many familiar faces and even more people we didn’t know. Thanks to all of you who brought your friends along to see us. We really appreciate that kind of help and we can’t do what we do without it.
The festival was incredibly well attended and it felt like a gathering of the coolest people in the Midwest, combined with some of the best bands in the country. We were truly honored to be there. Personal highlights included Los Lobos, Backyard Tire Fire, Bass Nectar and (of course) Willie Nelson. Props to the organizers of the festival for all the hard work.
Now, onto the crux of the story . . . Read the rest of this entry »

This trip has been incredible so far folks. The show in Sutherland Nebraska ranks as one of the most fun and welcoming shows we’ve ever played. Last night’s show in Boulder had a warm crowd and we got re-acquainted with Lonesome Traveler, a band we bumped into at IBMA last year. Future shows with them are a forgone conclusion.
More updates soon! Tonight we play with Spring Creek. These guys are hitting it big and we’re really looking forward to hanging out with them again.
Check back for more updates soon. As ever, you can see more photos and hear about our trip as it’s happening on Facebook and Twitter.

Well folks, the Prowlers have had a busy winter and it doesn’t look to be slowing down as we roll into spring. The band is making its first foray out to the Rocky Mountains and hitting all sorts of places in between. Look for us in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Arkansas, and Missouri. Please check our schedule and tell friends/family you have nearby where we’ll be.
We also want to let you all know that Nathan Sitzman is moving on to “Open Air and Fine Places” (you can hear the song on his Myspace page) at the end of the month. The past five months with him have been a blast and we’ll miss him, but nature calls Nathan in a powerful way. Look for him in the Front Range of Colorado, undoubtedly picking his mandolin and catching fish. His last show with us will be sometime at the end of the month.
Our second album is finally nearing completion. All the tracks are laid down and mixing/mastering is imminent. We’re also very happy to announce that Don Stiernberg will be adding his virtuosic chops to several tracks. We’re hoping to have a finished copy to bring on our Colorado trip with an official release date sometime in July.
We’ll keep you updated as we know more. Thanks for the continued support.

The Henhouse Prowlers can currently be heard on PBS stations all over the country. Wilmette native and NBC Today Show correspondent Mike Leonard is a good friend of the band, so when he decided to do a 12 part series based on his best-selling book ‘The Ride Of Our Lives’ , he asked The Henhouse Prowlers to help provide the soundtrack to the series. The band was in the studio at the end of 2007 laying down the tracks, and the show began premiering all over the country in January of 2008. Be sure and check your local listings to find out when The Ride Of Our Lives is showing in your area.
